Description

President-elect of the American Medical Association (2023) Board of Trustees. Researcher in the field of biomedical informatics. Doctor of anesthesiology and clinical informatics and trained at the Massachusetts General Hospital. Senior associate dean, tenured professor of anesthesiology and director of the “Advancing a Healthier Wisconsin Endowment” at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Professor of anesthesiology and health policy at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. Adjunct professor of surgery at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Md. Consultant to the World Health Organization Digital Health Technical Advisory Group and served as special advisor to the 20th U.S. Surgeon General. Former Speaker of the Massachusetts Medical Society, where he was the youngest officer in the 228-year history of the organization. He is also a former Vice-President of the Massachusetts Society of Anesthesiologists. Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Medical Systems.
