Description
Senior Editor, IndiWire. Focus of writing is on entertainment, film festivals, and awards season. Contributes as a writer to several publications including Variety, Salon, Xtra!, Exclaim, Winq, HitFix and InToronto. Jurored a number of international film festivals. Programmed the inaugural Reel Out Film Festival in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and in the summer of 2012 co-founded and co-directed Picton Picturefest, a film festival and "cinephile retreat" in rural Ontario that focused on the idea of film as a method of both community building and youth education. Authored 'About Canada: Queer Rights' (Fernwood Publishing, 2011), an historical account of Canada's lesbian and gay rights movement. Advisory Board Member, Mark S. Bonham Centre for Sexual Diversity Studies, University of Toronto.
