Lyrical poet and critic, though noted for his reclusive behavior. Notable works include 'The Art of Thomas Hardy' (1894) and 'Ireland and Other Poems' (1897). Cousin to Lord Alfred Douglas and friend of Oscar Wilde, to whom he instigated their introduction.
