Description

Geographer and explorer, who created the field of study called biogeography. Often called the 'father of modern geography'. Travelled extensively to research vegetation and flora, and has both species and geographical features named after him. Often acted as a diplomat. Noted for his work 'Kosmos' (1845) published in five volumes.
