LGBTQ and civil rights activist, known as the oldest living lesbian in history. Active speaker and guest at many LGBTQ rallies and events. Subject of a documentary 'Living With Pride: Ruth C. Ellis @ 100” (1999). The Ruth Ellis Center in Los Angeles is named in her honour.
