Partis Quebecois member of the Quebec National Assembly since 1998. Former Minister of Culture and Communications (1998-2001), and Minister of Labour, Employment, and Social Solidarity and Minister responsible for the status of women (2012-2014). Former President of the Opposition Caucus (2003-2012). Became the first open LGBTQ member when she came out in 2003.
