Art historian, and curator and Director of the City of Leicester Museums and Art Gallery. Exponent of German expressionist art. Lost his job when he was charged with homosexuality, though not found guilty. Moved abroad and held several positions, including with UNESCO and Professor of Art Education and of Art History at the University of Buffalo.
