Description

Former aide to Prime Minister’s Harold Wilson and Edward Heath as press officer, and member of the Labour Party. Author of her memoir 'Exceeding My Brief: Memoirs of a Disobedient Civil Servant' (2017). Journalist with BBC (1945-1947). Political Consultant with Yorkshire Television, then as a Non-Executive Director (19972-1997) and as Deputy Chairman (1997-1999). Appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (1999). Fellow of the Royal Television Society (1988) and of the Royal Society of Arts (1998).
