Description
Record producer and songwriter, considered the first independent pop record producer. Innovative music engineer. Notable as the producer of hit singles for artists Michael Cox ('Angela Jones'), the Honeycombs ('Have I The Right?), and The Tornados ('Telstar'). Worked with The Saxons, Petula Clark, Tom Jones, The Saints, and hundreds more. The Music Producers Guild created "The Joe Meek Award for Innovation in Production" in his honour. Full name is Robert George Meek.
