Economist and Professor of Economics, Vanderbilt University. Research interests include health and labor and the effects of public policies on health and family outcomes. Directs the Vanderbilt LGBT Policy Lab and with interdisciplinary teams is studying the effects of legal access to same-sex marriage in the United States and Europe. Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and Editor at the Journal of Health Economics. Also known as Kitt Carpenter.
