Description
Youth Poet Laureate for the City of Houston (2018), being the first LGBTQ youth to hold this honour. Student at the University of Houston. Poetry grapples with the struggles of the LGBTI community, including violence against gay men and the fear of growing older. Slam poetry champion, having won the City Grand Slam Championship in 2017 and 2018. A 2018 National YoungArts Foundation Winner in Writing and a U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts nominee.
