Description
21st Duchess of Medina Sidonia, a noble family of Spain. Three times a Grandee of Spain. Known as the 'Red Duchess' for her opposition to the Franco regime and the time she spent in prison for this. Historian and president of the Fundación Casa Medina Sidonia that manages the Archivo de la Casa de Medina Sidonia, the major part of the patrimony of the House of Medina Sidonia. Notable for marrying her partner and secretary 11 hours before her death, which lead to a protracted inheritance fight between her widow and her family.
