Description
Transgender Democratic Party member of the Delaware State Senate since 2020, being the first out transgender person ever elected to a state senate seat in the United States. Was the first out trans person to ever work at the White House when she interned there. She also was the first trans person to speak at a national political convention in 2016. Former National Press Secretary of the Human Rights Campaign. Author of the book 'Tomorrow Will Be Different: Love, Loss, and the Fight for Trans Equality' (2018).
