Description
Italy’s first Special Envoy for the Human Rights of LGBTQ created by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, appointed in 2021. Chair of the Interministerial Committee for Human Rights (CIDU) since 2016. Worked since 1989 in the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. He served in the Embassies in New Delhi and Paris, in Central European countries and worked at the General Secretariat and the Ceremonial Service. An organizer of the Italian G8 Presidency in 2009. Has held the rank of Minister Plenipotentiary. A LGBTI human rights activist, he is one of the founders and current President of Globe-MAE, the Association that brings together dozens of LGBTI employees belonging to all the careers of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. He writes in national and international magazines. An author of books on nonviolence and intercultural dialogue.
