Notable albums include 'The Heart, the Faith, the Soul of Clara Ward', 'Soul and Inspiration', and 'Hang Your Tears Out to Dry'. Noted for her influence on singer Aretha Franklin. Honored posthumously at the Songwriters Hall of Fame (1977). Bisexual.
