Description
Member of Parliament since 2024 and appointed as Deputy Minister of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities. LGBTQ and HIV activist. A prominent lesbian figure within the African National Congress, and has campaigned for LGBT rights in South Africa. Founder and Executive Director of LGBTIQ+ group Access Chapter 2. Former deputy chair of the South African National AIDS Council, and served as the chair of its National Society Forum. Chair of the Commonwealth Equality Network (2021).
