Poet, novelist, playwright, and activist. Co-editor of 'Come Out', the world's fist gay liberation newspaper, in the late 1960s. Started the Gay Men's Health Project Clinic (operating today as New York’s Callen-Lourde Community Health Centre). Wrote the play 'Night Chills' about AIDS.
