Description
Women's couture fashion wear designer, notably for fashioning dresses for Queen Elizabeth II and founder of the Hardy Amies label. Designed costumes for the film '2001: A Space Odyssey', among other films. Wrote a regular fashion column for Esquire magazine. Sold Hardy Amies to Debenhams in 1973, bought it back in 2001, and then resold it to the Luxury Brands Group. Partner to Ken Fleetwood, Design Director at Hardy Amies.
