Description
Choreographer and teacher of dance. Received a fellowship from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation (a “Genius” grant), two New York Dance and Performance (Bessie) Awards, and grants from John Simon Guggenheim Foundation, The National Endowment for the Arts, the New York Foundation for the Arts and the Mellon Foundation. Founder of the 'Streb Extreme Action Company' in 1985, which tours extensively throughout the United States and internationally presenting performances and residencies and conducts year-round activity at its home studio/laboratory, the STREB LAB for ACTION MECHANICS (SLAM), located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
