Novelist and short story writer, notably for 'Bitter Milk' (2005) and 'Stop Breaking Down' (2000, Whiting Writer's Award). His fourth book of fiction, the story collection 'Fox Tooth Heart', is forthcoming in November 2015. Associate Professor of creative writing at Old Dominion University (North Virginia) and Goddard College (Vermont).
