Novelist, playwright and short story writer. Recipient of the Pulitzer Prize for her novel 'So Big' (1924). Also known for writing 'Show Boat' (1926), 'Cimarron' (1929, Academy Award for Best Picture), and 'Giant' (1952). Member of the legendary social/literary group the Algonquin Round Table.
