Grammy award-winning singer with a troubled personal life, due to drugs (b. Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou). Started his musical career with the pop group Wham! (1981-1986). Went solo with his best-selling album 'Faith' (1987), followed by 'Listen Without Prejudice: 1' (1990). Most recent original song album is 'Patience' (2000). Received two Grammy Awards: 1987, with Wham! for 'I Knew You Were Waiting For Me', and 1988 for 'Faith'. Has won numerous Brit Music Awards and others. His personal and professional life was presented in the documentary film 'A Different Story' (2005).
