Description

Painter, illustrator, and writer. His artistic work always reflected homoerotic tones. Founder in 1950 of Hill End, New South Wales, which became an artists' colony. Winner of the Blake Prize for Religious Art (1955). Considered controversial because of his revelations about his homosexuality revealed in his diaries, and his relationships with young boys. Had a relationship with architect Geoffrey Bawa.
