Description

Former Conservative Party Member of Parliament (1987-1997) and Member of the European Parliament (1999-2014). From 1992 to 1996 he was a health minister and from 1996 to 1997 he was a transport minister. National Secretary of the Federation of Conservative Students. Former President of Gay Conservatives, an LGBT group within the Conservative Party. Vice president of the Conservative Group for Europe (CGE). Honorary Fellow of both the Royal College of Psychiatrists and the Royal College of Physicians. International health advisor.
