Lesbian Soul Singer. Member of both the US Rock & Roll (1999) and UK Music (2006) Halls of Fame. Often considered one of the best female rock stars of all times. Notable albums include 'Dusty in Memphis' (1968) which is in the Grammy Hall of Fame. Notable songs include 'Son of A Preacher Man' and 'Wishin and Hopin'. Member of the Order of the British Empire (1999). Lived in a romantic relationship with fellow singer Norma Tanega among others, and she married actress Teda Bracci (1982) in California (though the marriage was never legally recognized).
