Description
Field hockey player. Winner of Olympic Gold (1996, 2000). World Champion (1994, 1998). Former assistant coach of the national team, and head coach of the Netherlands national team (since 2011), which won the Olympic Gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo games. Head coach of the China National Team which won the Olympic Silver medal at the 2024 Paris games. FIH Player of the Year (1998, 2000). Best Female Hockey Player in the World (1999). Appointed Member, Order of Australia (1996). Member, Sport Australia Hall of Fame (2013). Married to fellow field hockey player Carole Thate.
