Transgender activist. Co-founder, with Santiago D’Almeida Ferreira, of Ação Pela Identidade (Action for Identity, 2014), the first and only NGO in Portugal that studies and defends gender diversity and sex characteristics based on the experience of trans and intersex people. The first trans head of a Portuguese party, the Left Bloc (BE) for the constituency of Setubal. Steering Committee member of TGEU - Transgender Europe, a European organization defending the rights of transgender people. Coordinator of GRIT - Group of Reflection and Intervention on Transsexuality of ILGA Portugal association.
