Economist and former economics editor for BBC. Currently acts as a presenter on BBC's television version of 'The Dragon's Den' and 'The Bottom Line', as well as Newsnight. Author of the book 'Public Spending' (Penguin, 1998). Partner is Guillaume Baltz, a French landscape architect.
