Bent on Change is a gay-straight alliance at Toronto's Harbord Collegiate Institute. The group works determinedly to make things better for LGBT community members, by confronting homophobia and transphobia among students and staff, and celebrating the diversity of gender and sexual diversity.
About Gay Straight Alliances: Gay Straight Alliances (GSAs) are student organizations that provide safe and supportive environments for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender youth, and their straight allies. GSA goals include positively impacting academic performance and relationships, promoting acceptance, respect, and tolerance of all individuals regardless of background, and raising awareness about homophobia and other forms of oppression. There are over 250 registered Gay Straight Alliances in Canada.
