Description

Author of gay fiction; first gay writer to receive Man Booker Prize for novel 'A Line of Beauty' (2004). Works reflect life in the gay subculture of society. Recipient of numerous awards, including the 1989 Somerset Maugham Award, and the 1994 James Tait Black Memorial Prize. Other novels include 'The Stranger's Child' (2011) and 'The Sparsholt Affair' (2018).
