Description
Author of gay fiction. Was the first gay writer to receive Man Booker Prize, for his novel 'A Line of Beauty' (2004). Works reflect life in the gay subculture of society. Recipient of numerous other awards, including the 1989 Somerset Maugham Award, and the 1994 James Tait Black Memorial Prize. Other novels include 'The Stranger's Child' (2011) and 'The Sparsholt Affair' (2018).
