Description
Author, feminist, and LGBTQ activist. Her works encompasses areas of race, sexuality, gender, and the perception of black women in society today. Founded the bell hooks Institute at Berea College (2014) and is Distinguished Professor in Residence. Notable books include ' Ain't I a Woman?: Black Women and Feminism (1981) and 'All About Love: New Visions' (2001), among her 30 books written. Author of six children's books. Considered a leading intellectual thinker of the current time.
