Singer, songwriter, musician. Has sold over 300 million records worldwide. Has received six Grammy Awards, five Brit Awards (including two awards for Outstanding Contribution to British Music and the first Brits Icon in 2013), an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, a Tony Award and the Kennedy Center Honors in 2004. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994. LGBTQ and Aids activist and founder of the Elton John Aids Foundation, for which he was knighted in 1998.
