Description

Often called the grandfather of the homosexual movement in France. Communist, libertarian, and anarchist. Activist for social equality and sexual liberty. Prolific author, whose notable books include 'Anarchism: From Theory to Practice'. When he came out as gay, he was abandoned by the homophobic left in France. Participated in the May 1968 events in France, which led to the formation of the first LGBTQ groups in the country, the Homosexual Front for Revolutionary Action (Front Homosexuel d'Action Révolutionnaire, or FHAR).
