President of the Michigan Environmental Council since 2008. Former Democratic Party member of the Michigan State House of Representatives (2001-2007), being the first open LGBTQ person to hold the office in the state. Former member of the Ann Arbor City Council. Former Executive Director, Unity Michigan, the state's LGBTQ rights organization.
