Description
Born Dora Ratjen. Competed in the high jump in the 1936 Olympics as a woman. Won the gold medal and set a record at the subsequent European Championships. Was later discovered to be a man. Considered intersex. His medal and record were erased after the disclosure. Also known as Heinz Ratjen.
