Psychologist. Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Family and Preventive Medicine at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) School of Medicine. Research expertise in the study of homosexuality. Notable for his book 'The Male Couple' (1975), which helped to bring gay relationship into the media spotlight. Founded found the first federally funded research center dedicated solely to studying the effects of AIDS infection on the brain, The HIV Neurobehavioral Research Center, at the University of California San Diego.
