Description
Early LGBTQ activist and considered the founder of the movement on the West Coast of the United States as Los Angeles chapter President of the Daughters of Bilitis and editing its newspaper. Co-founder, the Gay and Lesbian Caucus of the Democratic Party. Publisher, Community Yellow Pages (1981-1999), an LGBTQ directory. Board President of ONE National Gay & Lesbian Archives (1995), and co-founded the Lesbian Legacy Collection at the ONE Archives. Organizer of numerous lesbian conferences and seminars throughout her lifetime, author of several books including her memoir 'When We Were Outlaws' (2011), and columnist in numerous magazines and newspapers.
