Orlando's first out gay elected official as commissioner, since 2000. Has been recognized multiple times by the Orlando Weekly, Orlando Magazine and also by the Watermark newspaper as Best Elected Official; listed in the Top 25 Influential Women in Orlando Life Magazine; was awarded the Diversity Champion Award by the Asian American Chamber of Commerce (2013). Also known as Patty Sheehan (not to be confused with the out LPGA golder Patty Sheehan).
