Acivist, who began with Mattachine Midwest, which provided legal help to gay men and lesbians facing discrimination, followed by activities with the city of Chicago's Committee on Gay and Lesbian Issues, the Chicago Gay Alliance, the Windy City Athletic Association and Chicago Lesbian Liberation. Publishier of the first annotated bibliography on lesbian literature 'Women Loving Women'. Organizer of national Lesbian Writers Conferences (1974-1978). Inducted into the Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame (1991).
