Olympic gold medal winner, 2008 Olympics, 10 metre Diving after performing the highest scoring dive in Olympic history. First openly-gay Olympic athlete to win a gold medal. Australian Sports Performer of the Year (2008). Inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame (2020). Author of his autobiography 'Twists and Turns' (2012).
