Pre-eminent illustrator of the 20th century. Noted for his covers of the magazine Saturday Evening Post, and for his trade character 'The Arrow Collar Man'. Work is highly homoerotic. Subject of the documentary 'Coded: The Hidden Love of J.C. Leyendecker' (2021). Life-long relationship with Charles Beach. Also known as Joseph Christian Leyendecker.
