Description

Physiologist, chemist, and medical doctor. Recipient of the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1931. Professor at the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute for Biology in Berlin-Dahlem. Investigated the metabolism of tumors and the respiration of cells, particularly cancer cells, and noted for his discovery of the nature and mode of action of the cellular respiratory enzyme. A notable equestrian who served in the cavalry in World War One. Also known as Otto Warburg.
