Description

Founder and leader of the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) to combat bullying in schools. Joined the Obama administration as Assistant Deputy Secretary of Education and director of the Office of Safe & Drug-Free Schools in 2009 - 2011. Currently heads a new non-profit organization, 'Be the Change' dedicated to addressing the growing problem of economic inequality in the United States.
