Set designer and film director, of which many films depict homosexual life and homoeroticism. Notable films include 'Caravaggio', 'Blue', and 'Edward II'. Writer, poet, painter. Advocate for the rights and dignity of gays and PWAs (Persons With AIDS). Died of Aids.
