Author and founding editor/publisher of Hip Mama, a publication covering the culture and politics of motherhood. Credited with creating the notion of maternal feminism. Author of her memoir 'Atlas of the Human Heart' (2004), and the book 'Portland Queer: Tales of the Rose City' (2010, Lambda Literary Award). Created the teaching website Ariel Gore's School for Wayward Writers.
