Description
Sculptor. Founding member of the Sculptors Society of Canada and recipient of the Coronation Medal for her contributions to Canadian art. The first woman accorded full membership in the Royal Canadian Academy of Art. Noted for her war sculptors, and erotic portrayal of women. Poet. Created a fund in her will for young sculptors which has subsequently had a significant impact on sculptor in Canada. Partner was fellow sculptor Frances Loring.
