Description

Democratic Party member of the U.S. House of Representatives since 2020, being the first gay LGBTQ+ Afro-Latinx member of Congress. Former Democratic Party member of the New York City Councillor (2013-2020), and Deputy Majority Leader (2016). First openly gay public official in the Bronx district of New York City, and the youngest person to be elected to the position at the time.
