Medical doctor, considered intersexed, born as a woman, declared a man so he could marry later his housekeepr. Born as Elizabeth Forbes-Semphill, re-registering as a male in 1952. Upon inheriting his estate from his brother, he was challenged in court by a cousin, but the inheritance was confirmed by the Court of Session. Married and had four children. Also known as Sir Ewan Forbes.
