Polar Explorer, author, former teacher and educator. Along with Norwegian Liv Arneson, was the first women in history to ski and sail across Antarctica, in 94 days. Member, National Women's Hall of Fame. Campaigned for equal marriage rights in the state of Minnesota which eventually led to success in that State. Created the Ann Bancroft Foundation to improve the lives and opportunities for girls around the world.
